The German Roach Protocol
German roach eggs are carried by the female until just before hatching, which is why product that eliminates adults doesn't reach the next generation. Our protocol places non-repellent bait inside the harborage and times follow-up visits to catch newly hatched nymphs before they breed.
We inspect kitchens, bathrooms, under and behind appliances, and inside electronics — the tight, warm voids the species hides in. Sticky monitor traps go down so weekly catch counts can confirm severity and track progress.
Professional non-repellent adulticides and gel baits go into crack-and-crevices where roaches actually travel — not on counters. Product runs behind appliances, under sinks, and along plumbing. No fogging — fogging scatters them and splits the population deeper into walls.
Eggs are protected from product, so newly hatched nymphs keep showing up after the first visit. We return at 1 and 3 weeks to refresh bait, read trap activity, and adjust placement based on where catches are concentrating.
Once the population is broken, ongoing service prevents reintroduction from neighboring units, shared walls, or hitchhikers riding in on grocery bags and cardboard boxes. This is where the standard pest plan takes over.

The propellant is repellent — it scatters the population deeper into wall voids, electronics, and shared walls (a real problem in Northern Virginia and Maryland multi-family buildings), and it splits the colony into pockets that are harder to reach with bait. Professional non-repellent adulticides and gel baits do the opposite: roaches walk through and feed on them, return to harborage, and pass product through the population. Please don't fog the house in the days before our visit — it can ruin the bait response for weeks.
Clear out under-sink cabinets and any cabinet next to the stove or fridge so we can place bait where it's actually needed. Pull small appliances away from the wall if you can. Take out the trash and store food in sealed containers. Most importantly: don't fog, spray, or bomb the area in the days before we arrive — repellent product spreads the population and ruins bait.
