Placement matters more than product
Most of the treatment impact in a pest plan isn't the product — it's where you put it. We use gel baits inside cracks, residuals applied to baseboards out of reach of kids and pets, and perimeter applications kept outdoors at the foundation line. No fogging interior living space.

What makes the eco-friendly plan eco-friendly?

Three things. First — product selection: we vet active ingredients against the actual studies, not the marketing copy, and we picked a product list our team is comfortable applying. Second — product cuts: we removed nine of the harshest residuals the industry still uses, even though they're EPA-allowed. Third — placement: gel baits inside cracks where roaches and ants forage, granular bait raked into mulch beds, residuals along baseboards out of reach, perimeter applications kept outdoors. The placement piece is usually the biggest single factor.
What products did you remove?

We can share the specific list on the phone or after your first visit — there are nine residuals we used to keep on the truck and don't anymore. Most of them are products with long environmental persistence, broad-spectrum activity, or exposure profiles we weren't comfortable with around our own families. They're all still EPA-allowed; we just made the call as a company to take them off. We can also send the list to you in writing before we start service if you'd like to review it.
Is the eco-friendly plan more expensive?

No. From $49/mo — the same price as our standard pest control. Eco-friendly isn't a premium upcharge at Better; it IS our standard plan. We don't think you should have to pay more to skip the harshest products, so we just stopped using them across the board. Same monthly price, same coverage list, same no-binding-contract structure.
What if I have a serious infestation — German roaches, a heavy ant problem, mice in the walls?

In heavy situations we may use a stronger product temporarily to break the infestation, then transition you to low-impact maintenance once it's under control. The goal is to actually solve your pest problem. If a serious German roach issue needs a knockdown product to clear the kitchen, we'll tell you that on the phone, walk through what we'd use and why, and you can decide. After the issue is broken, ongoing service runs on the low-impact program.
Is the program pollinator-friendly?

Yes — that's a big reason placement matters more than product. We don't broadcast-spray flowering plants or apply broad-spectrum residuals to areas where pollinators forage. Baits go in cracks and protected stations; perimeter applications stay at the foundation. If you have a pollinator garden, beehives, or specific plantings to protect at your Northern Virginia property, tell us during the quote and we'll plan the visit around them.
Can I get a list of products you used? +
Yes. After each service visit your technician leaves a service report that documents the products applied, where they were applied, and the active ingredients. If you'd like the product list and SDS sheets in advance — before you start service — we can send those over by email.
How much does the eco-friendly plan cost in Alexandria, VA? +
